In this figure all three components are again plotted for the crypto-slumped (left) and the slumped (right) sediments. The crypto-slump shows the beginnings of grains lining up under compressive strain. The maximum (V1) and intermediate (V2) axis are just barely statistically distinguishable. With the slumped case, V1 and V2 are clearly statistically independent and have undergone more strain than the crypto-slump case. In outcrop, deformation of the lamination are visible at his site.
